Halloween is quickly approaching. There are so many ways you can decorate your outdoor areas to welcome the spooky season. Who doesn’t love the color orange? Or pumpkins? Black cats and witches? It’s a fun time of the year and decorating your doorstep, your porch, your deck or even your garden areas can bring a lot of joy and fun to your home. These are just a few of our favorites.
Get lots of different sizes and colors of pumpkins. Load them into an old wheelbarrow with some potted mums and you’ve created a beautiful accent that will not only work for the spooky season, but works for the entire fall season. If you’re really crafty, try painting them with a Halloween motif. You can find some inspiration here.
And nothing will bring that festive Halloween feeling to the front of your house like a creeped out wreath for your front door. This one is easily one of our favorites. Yes, it’s creepy, but the color and style are classic and tasteful. After all, you don’t want people to be THAT afraid to knock on your door on Halloween night.
And this one also hits the mark.
Decorating with hay bales is never a bad decision. They easily add height where you need it and perfect for pumpkin and plant placement.
Does your porch have a railing? Dress it up. Halloween style! Make a garland out of colorful corn to tie into the Halloween theme, and it will also carry on into Thanksgiving season.
Don’t forget to dress up those planters. Choose the typical fall color plants and include mums, helenium, pansies and violas, and croton. Ornamental kale, cabbage and chard also work well in a fall planter. And if you can find a ceramic pumpkin planter? Bonus!
Bring that festive feel to your outdoor spaces.
