Baptisia, commonly referred to as fake indigo, has a long lifespan once established. In fact, many people confirm that the samples they planted decades ago have faithfully blossomed each spring. A sizable perennial that resembles a shrub, baptismia produces beautiful stalks of blueish-purple blooms, which are followed by sizable seedpods.
